Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "World Power-to-X Summit", Benali underlined that green hydrogen is a cornerstone of Morocco’s energy transition efforts and a key priority in its low-carbon strategy.
“Green hydrogen represents not just a promising solution to climate challenges but is also crucial for advancing sustainable and clean economic models,” Benali noted, adding that “Morocco is committed to cementing its leadership in renewable energy, with green hydrogen at the forefront of this transition to a more sustainable future.”
In this regard, the minister outlined the country's "Morocco Offer for Green Hydrogen," an integrated framework aimed at attracting national and international investors. The initiative provides a clear and transparent roadmap for the phased development of green hydrogen projects.
Held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the two-day event brings together global leaders in the green hydrogen sector to promote the clean energy transition in Morocco and on the international stage.
Co-organized by the Institute for Research in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), the Green H2 Cluster, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), and the Moroccan Sustainable Energy Agency (MASEN), the event operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development.
Designed to showcase the latest technological advancements, foster collaboration, and exchange best practices among industry stakeholders, the summit underscores Morocco's ambition to establish itself as a global leader in green hydrogen.
