In a statement to MAP, Mostafa from the village of Ighrane (Tamrout commune) said that the Royal Pardon has brought great relief to all the families in the region and has given hope to those affected, enabling them to embark on a successful professional and social life that will positively impact the province's economy and society at large.
Similarly, Ali S., another beneficiary, affirmed that the High Royal Initiative has revived the hope among all concerned farmers to engage in legal professions and new economic activities that will allow them to provide for their families and earn a living in compliance with the law and the new state strategy for regulating cannabis-related activities.
Lahcen B., another beneficiary of the Royal Pardon residing in the Bab Bered commune, described this Royal Decision as "historic and unprecedented," noting that it will contribute to transforming the region, establishing a structured economy, and ensuring social stability. He emphasized that this High Royal Concern has brought great relief to all families and demonstrates the Sovereign's commitment to improving the socio-economic conditions in rural areas.
Louafi B., also from the Bab Bred commune, echoed these sentiments, noting that this Royal Decision represents a major turning point in definitively breaking away from illicit cultivation and the resulting social and legal issues, and laying the foundations for sustainable development. He added that the decision by His Majesty the King is a boon for the entire region, aiming to integrate it into an economy beneficial to the local population.
On the occasion of the Anniversary of the King and People's Revolution, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, graciously granted His Pardon to 4,831 individuals who were convicted, prosecuted, or sought in cases related to cannabis cultivation and who met the required conditions to benefit from the Pardon.
