In a statement to MAP, Hamdi emphasized that this High Royal Initiative will guarantee the rights of the beneficiaries to contribute to local development and will allow their integration into the new strategy aimed at regulating activities related to cannabis cultivation and its use for medical and industrial purposes, in accordance with Law 13-21 on the legal uses of cannabis.
The Royal Pardon is also in harmony with the human rights-based approach developed by the United Nations in its global drug control strategy, he noted.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the King and the People's Revolution, HM King Mohammed VI granted His Pardon to 4,831 people convicted, prosecuted, or wanted in cases related to cannabis cultivation who met the required conditions to benefit from the Pardon.
