In a statement to MAP, Belkasseh stressed that this vision focuses primarily on the development of infrastructures such as dams and seawater desalination plants, as well as the interconnection of water basins, emphasizing the importance of good governance based on coordination between the sectors concerned.
She also underlined the importance of HM the King's call for the development of a Moroccan water desalination industry, built around Moroccan expertise in hydraulic engineering, "as the development of a national industry in this field represents one of the essential solutions for coping with rainfall shortages".
Belkasseh pointed out that the royal speech had elevated the issue of water management to the status of a national cause, stressing that the royal directives, as presented in the speech, call on the national conscience of all stakeholders (institutions, actors and citizens) to engage actively and responsibly in efforts to preserve water resources.
