Signed by president of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, Abdellatif Maazouz, and Secretary of the Sichuan Province Committee of the Communist Party of China, Wang Xiaohui, in the presence of Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Morocco, Li Changlin, the agreement covers tourism, education, higher education and research, vocational training and culture.

In a statement to MAP, Maazouz said that this meeting with the Chinese delegation aims to translate the strategic partnership signed in 2016 in Beijing by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and president of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, into concrete partnerships between the Casablanca-Settat region and Sichuan province.

“We hope that this framework agreement will lead, before the end of the year, to the drafting of an action plan for the implementation of this partnership between the two parties”, he said, adding that China had made significant progress in the areas concerned by this bilateral cooperation.

These include renewable energies, digitalization, logistics and new industries and technologies, he noted.
