In a statement to MAP on the sidelines of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council's participation in Gitex Africa 2024, in partnership with the Regional Investment Center (CRI-TTA), El Khamlichi stressed that digitalization helps to improve the quality of public services and enhance the attractiveness of the region.
In this regard, he noted that this technological great event offers an opportunity to find out about the advances made, particularly in the current context of digital transformation.
El Khamlichi added that Gitex Africa is paving the way for digital transformation on a continental scale, with the aim of increasing efficiency and optimizing the use of technology, while establishing greater transparency in the management of public affairs.
Africa's commitment to accelerating its digital transformation will create a momentum that will propel the continent to its rightful place, he said.
In this respect, he called for intensified efforts on the part of public institutions, local authorities and the private sector alike, to keep pace with rapid global developments.
For her part, Siham Benabdennbi, head of the "Investor Support" division at the CRI-TTA, said that the presence of players from the TTA region's entrepreneurial ecosystem would help to highlight the region's various offers and business opportunities for startups.
“We are currently presenting the support services offered by the CRI-TTA and other partners through the 'Manar Al Moustatmir' digital platform, which enables anyone to formulate their own needs and create support paths,” she continued, noting that this support covers sources of financing, networking and access to all the information provided by the CRI and its partners.
Contacted by MAP, startup managers in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region stressed the importance of Gitex Africa as a global showcase for technology, innovation and networking, offering participants the opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise.
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Gitex Africa, which runs until May 31 and will be attended by over 1,500 exhibitors representing more than 130 countries, is intended to be a hub for exchanges on the latest technological developments.
