"Our participation in GITEX has a twofold logic, the first being that CFC is fully committed to this dynamic of financial innovation and wants to be a financial center at the forefront of everything that's happening in the financial world," she told MAP on the sidelines of a visit to the CFC stand by the President of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, Abdellatif Maâzouz.
GITEX is also an ideal opportunity to meet Tech companies wishing to set up their hub in Casablanca, Ms. Merzoukiexplained.
In this connection, she pointed out that Casablanca Finance City, in partnership with the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, has launched an ambitious program aimed at raising the profile of CFC and the region internationally through the establishment of a finance training institute in Africa.
For Fintech, CFC has launched the "Africa Innovation Lab" initiative, a startup acceleration program through which the best African startups have been selected for technical and financial support, she added.
For his part, Mr. Maâzouz hailed CFC's initiatives as "the leading financial center on the African continent," stressing that the Casablanca-Settat region, through its status as CFC's main shareholder, is fully engaged in these initiatives in favor of young value creators.
"The youth who have created these startups are in very rewarding niches that solve problems for companies and individuals," through the financial integration of citizens but also by helping companies solve many problems, he added.
Renowned as the leading financial center in Africa and a partner of the world's leading financial centers, CFC has succeeded in building up a strong community of members, including financial companies, regional headquarters of multinationals, service providers, and holding companies.
