Launched on the sidelines of Gitex Africa Morocco, this initiative is intended to promote the emergence of "insurtechs" and support the development of innovative startups in the insurance sector. It is also aimed at strengthening their integration into the Moroccan entrepreneurial ecosystem.
On this occasion, Hicham Zanati Serghini, Managing Director of Tamwilcom, told MAP that this collaboration aims to integrate the Insurtech sector into the ecosystem, while encouraging the emergence of innovative startups.
"We recognize the highly regulated nature of this sector, where compliance is of paramount importance. In partnership with ACAPS, we are committed to ensuring that these projects meet industry standards," he underlined.
Mr. Serghini also highlighted the commitment of both parties to collaborate with the various stakeholders in the ecosystem, in order to highlight opportunities offered by the sector, identify the startups involved in Insurtech and evaluate the progress made in this area next year.
For his part, Abderrahim Chaffai, president of ACAPS, underlined the importance of this partnership in the development of the startup ecosystem in the insurance sector.
He recalled that Tamwilcom has a portfolio of projects to finance and support, which may be interested in the development of Insurtech.
"As regulators, we support these startups at all stages of their development and provide them with legal advice while ensuring their regulatory compliance to facilitate their growth," he said.
Mr. Chaffai underlined that this collaboration marks a significant step forward in supporting innovative startups in the insurance sector through increased cooperation between financial institutions and regulators in order to create a favorable environment for their expansion.
