In a statement, the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) said that the attempted trafficking of these drug shipments was foiled in two separate operations, adding that the first was carried out by the Al-Hoceima judicial police in coordination with the local authority, and resulted in the seizure of 41 bundles of drugs hidden in a rocky area at the beach, while the rest of the cargo was seized by the Royal Navy aboard two fishing boats.
Searches and investigations are underway, under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office, with a view to unravelling all the possible ramifications and connections of this criminal activity and to arresting all the accomplices involved, added the same source.
This case is part of the intensive operations carried out by the various national law enforcement bodies and services to combat drug and psychotropic substance trafficking networks, concluded the DGSN.
