This year's edition will bring together 743 exhibitors representing 48 countries, announced the organizers on Friday at a press conference held at the National Library to present SIEL 29th edition.
Some 241 cultural activities will punctuate the days of the fair, with a rich and diversified program including conferences focusing mainly on themes such as multiple Africa, profiles and images, female and male writing, as well as media and technology, with the participation of a host of Moroccan and foreign writers, intellectuals and poets.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, said that this cultural meeting, which has been very successful in its various editions, will be very well frequented and is reflecting the interest of Moroccans in books and culture in general, noting that the event is open to publishers representing all regions of the Kingdom.
Regarding the choice of UNESCO as guest of honor at SIEL 29th edition, Bensaid said that this choice reflects "the excellent level of relations between the Kingdom and this UN organization", adding that the partnership between the two parties covers multiple fields, including education, cultural and creative industries, archaeology and intangible heritage.
