"This election is a well-deserved recognition of the progress made by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty the King in protecting and defending human rights," Arribas told MAP news agency, noting that Morocco is setting an example in terms of guaranteeing rights and citizenship.
Highlighting Morocco's achievements in terms of respect for human rights and socio-economic development, the Spanish expert pointed out that Morocco's election to chair this UN body consolidates its position as an influential and respected country at regional, continental and international levels.
It will help reinforce its efforts to promote human rights and the values of peace and security in the region and elsewhere, added Arribas, noting that this election is a culmination of "the good work" of Moroccan diplomacy and a recognition of the farsightedness of HM King Mohammed VI's initiatives in support of peace and stability throughout the world.
