FAR Unit Rescues 23 Sub-Saharans Attempting Irregular Migration
Rabat - In a recent operation, a Royal Armed Forces (FAR) unit responsible for coastal surveillance successfully intercepted a boat carrying 23 Sub-Saharan individuals attempting irregular migration. The incident occurred on Monday, approximately 32 kilometers northeast off Tantan, according to an official statement from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
The intercepted vessel was en route to the Canary Islands, the statement clarified.
Upon rescuing the individuals on board, who were identified as candidates for irregular migration, the Moroccan authorities provided them with necessary medical attention. Subsequently, the rescued individuals were handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie to undergo standard administrative procedures.
