Speaking at the opening of the 2023 CAF Awards ceremony, held Monday evening at the Congress Palace, Motsepe stressed that the performance of the Atlas Lions at Qatar's World Cup shows that African countries can achieve extraordinary successes in different competitions.
Extending his thanks to Morocco for hosting this event, he noted that the CAF Awards show that African football can compete globally.
"We shall prepare African countries to become world football champions", CAF president underlined, adding that the development of football in Africa is a collective endeavor.
Motsepe added that “football has the power to unite Africa. Its role shall be recognized to make the continent a destination for world football.”
The Kingdom is hosting, for the 2nd consecutive year the CAF Awards, which celebrate the excellence of African football, after the 2022 edition held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora.
