Royal Navy Unit Assists 103 Would-be Irregular Migrants (Military Source)
Rabat - A unit of the Royal Navy intercepted, Friday, 14 kilometers southwest of Dakhla, a canoe with on board 103 Sub-Saharan would-be irregular migrants, including 94 Senegalese, 3 Guineans, 4 Gambians, 1 Bissau-Guinean and 1 Malian, according to a military source.
The canoe in question, which set sail from Saint-Louis in Senegal on October 29, 2023, was bound for the Canary Islands, the same source added.
Those rescued, including five women and two minors, were given the necessary treatment before being handed over to the Dakhla national security forces for the usual administrative procedures.
