“In a regional and global context that is most indecisive, most unpredictable and increasingly tense, and crowned with recognized progress and international recognition for the accuracy of its strategies and choices, Morocco has just achieved a new milestone by putting people at the forefront of its priorities through the launch of the Direct Social Assistance Program,” former CEO of the Tunisian press agency “TAP” told MAP.
For the Tunisian expert, this orientation is hardly surprising; It is the result of a resolute societal choice making social development an important lever for sustainable development in the Kingdom.
He stressed that the operationalization of this “ambitious” program and the importance of the funds mobilized testify to the commitment made so that this large-scale project is, at the same time, a factor in consolidating the foundations of the social State and a vector for the inclusion of vulnerable categories.
To be convinced, it is enough to note the colossal budget devoted to it, with a determination of the timetable for its implementation through the progressive operationalization of the Direct Social Assistance as of the end of 2023 and its targeting of 60% of Moroccan families not currently covered by social security schemes, he pointed out.
“His Majesty King Mohammed VI personally ensures the proper implementation of this project, hence the attention paid to the completion of the legal framework for the upgrade of the national health system, the continued reform of the education and training system and the implementation of the new housing assistance program,” he explained.
Hence, Morocco has just affirmed its commitment to strengthening the pillars of the social State and to consolidating the exceptional achievements accomplished by the Kingdom in all areas, economic progress and its significant role at the regional and continental levels, the Tunisian political scientist said.
