In addition to the exceptional volume of the country's achievements in terms of structural projects, infrastructure, economic accomplishments, and regional and continental leadership, all attributed to a proactive and forward-thinking Royal vision, there are major, far-reaching actions that directly impact Moroccan citizens. This innovative and proactive program is one of them.
A pioneering concept for a more productive and enterprising society
Launched in line with the same philosophy espoused by His Majesty the King for projects with a strong social and solidarity-based component, such as the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the medical assistance scheme (RAMED), compulsory health insurance (AMO) and the generalization of social protection - essential pillars of the Kingdom's societal and development model - the direct social assistance program will help to substantially improve the daily lives of families in need.
While this new milestone in the social arsenal reflects His Majesty the King's firm determination to protect vulnerable groups and guarantee equal opportunities for all, it also reflects the Sovereign's ambition to immunize the family against all the risks that hinder its development, and thus create the conditions for a "more productive and proactive society," one that "is deeply committed to solidarity" and "more resilient to contingences and fluctuations," as the Sovereign emphasized in His opening address to the first session of the 11th Legislature's 3rd legislative year.
A catalyst for a virtuous social dynamic
His Majesty the King has instructed the government to make the implementation of this program a model of success, insisting on strict compliance with the principles of solidarity, transparency and fairness in the allocation of aid, particularly to those who deserve it.
Conceived on the equitable and inclusive basis that forms the backbone of every social project initiated by the Sovereign, this program targets 60% of Moroccan families not currently covered by social security schemes. And to lay the foundations of the social state, the program will be accompanied by the completion of the legal framework for the rehabilitation of the national health system and the continuation of the reform of the education and training system. This virtuous social dynamic will be completed by the implementation of the new housing assistance program.
With an overall budget of MAD 25 billion in 2024, rising to MAD 29 billion per year in 2026, and a timetable based on optimal governance that benefits from permanent Royal monitoring, the forthcoming operationalization of this program will undeniably revolutionize the field of social action in the Kingdom. In addition to the other major social reforms being steadily pursued under the Royal impetus, it will consolidate the solidarity culture that is the hallmark of Moroccan society.
