The Kingdom is also an example "in terms of partnerships such as those we have set up on the African continent", stressed the European bank official in a press statement on the occasion of his participation in the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) being held in Marrakech.

"The EIB supports the innovative EU-Morocco green partnership aimed at protecting the environment, facilitating the transition to a greener economy, preserving biodiversity and combating climate change," he noted.

"We are meeting this week in a region where climate change is a clear and present threat", he noted, adding that EIB officials, led by its President, would be joining their counterparts from the WB Group, the IMF and other development banks to formulate joint responses to challenges including mobilizing the private sector for climate action and accelerating the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
