Out of the five films submitted, three meet the criteria set by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Alongside Asmae El Moudir's feature, they include Sofia Alaoui's "Animalia" and Yasmine Benkiran's "Queens," as stated by the CCM in a press release.

"The Mother of All Lies" was unanimously selected on Thursday by a committee chaired by Narjiss Nejjar, director of the CCM. The committee also comprised actress, director, and head of the High Institute of Theatrical Arts and Cultural Animation (ISADAC), Latefa Ahrrare, as well as directors and producers Mohamed Ahed Bensouda and Hakim Belabbes, film distributor Mohamed Khouna, film critics Khalil Demmoun and Ali Hassan, and cinema exhibitor Hassan Belkady, according to the same source.
