This initiative, which comes in addition to the many actions carried out by the Foundation in the affected areas, aims to address the immediate healthcare needs of the rural community, which was severely impacted by the earthquake that struck several provinces in the Kingdom last Friday.
The mobile medical unit is staffed by highly qualified medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, capable of providing emergency care, stabilizing seriously injured patients, and managing various medical conditions.
Furthermore, the unit is equipped for medical evacuations, both by air and land, if necessary.
In response to this initiative, two individuals, a woman, and a man, were successfully evacuated by helicopter to the Mohammed VI University Hospital (CHU) in Marrakech.
Despite challenging geographical conditions, a specialized medical team on the helicopter provided immediate emergency first aid to the local residents, whose conditions required urgent medical attention.
"After conducting on-site consultations within the mobile medical unit, it was determined that the health conditions of the two individuals in question raised concerns that warranted further examinations, radiological investigations, and specialized care," the medical team mobilized for this purpose explained to MAP.
Abderrahman Saber, Head of Project Development at the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, emphasized in the same statement, that the deployment of this mobile medical unit in the Adassil commune, as well as in Tlat N'Yacoub near the earthquake's epicenter, is aimed at providing medical support and psychological assistance to the affected residents.
He also highlighted the strong collaboration between provincial authorities, the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, Civil Protection, Auxiliary Forces, and civil society organizations.
In addition to these efforts, Saber announced that the Foundation, in close coordination with prefectural and provincial authorities, established provincial and regional depots for collecting food aid, clothing, tents, and blankets to ensure the smooth delivery of relief to those in need.
The beneficiaries of this solidarity initiative, who turned out in large numbers to consult doctors and receive medicines, expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by public authorities, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, to alleviate their suffering and provide relief and assistance. They also commended the swift deployment of the mobile medical unit by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.
