FNM President Mehdi Qotbi visited the museums to assess the progress made in securing the buildings of these two museums in the old medina and the efforts being made to address the earthquake damage.
Qotbi told the press that the Foundation had invested significant efforts in securing the Dar El Bacha and Dar Si Said museum buildings in the wake of the earthquake.
"We are currently in the process of repairing the damage to the Dar El Bacha and Dar Si Said museums with the aim of reopening them within the next two months," he said. He noted that the FNM had dispatched executives and experts from Rabat on Saturday to assess the earthquake damage to these two structures.
He also mentioned that a comprehensive study would be conducted by a qualified consulting firm. Work has also started by erecting scaffolding to support the structures of the Confluences' museums in Dar El Bacha.
Following his visit, Qotbi held a meeting with the heads of the Dar El Bacha and Dar Si Said Museums to review the progress of the efforts to secure the buildings.
