"In the 2nd quarter of 2023, sales in the wholesale sector on the local market would have been stable according to 61% of wholesalers, and up according to 22%", says the HCP in a recent note on the results of business surveys of companies in the non-financial market services and wholesale sectors.
This trend is mainly attributable, on the one hand, to higher sales in "Wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco" and "Wholesale of household goods" and, on the other hand, to lower sales in "Wholesale of other industrial equipment", explains the note.
Employment was stable according to 79% of business managers, while inventories of goods were at a normal level according to 86% of wholesalers, and sales prices were stable according to 55% of business managers and down according to 36%.
