Upon his arrival at the Marrakech Congress Palace, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid reviewed a detachment of the Auxiliary Forces that rendered the honors, before being greeted by Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Economy Fatim-Zahra Ammor, and Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was also greeted by the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the Prefecture of Marrakech, Karim Kassi-Lahlou, the president of the Council of the Marrakech-Safi Region, Samir Goudar, the president of the Commune of Marrakech, Fatima-Ezzahra El Mansouri, the president of the Prefectural Council of Marrakech, Jamila Afif, and the president of the Commune of Mechuar-Kasbah, Abderrahmane Ouafa.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was also greeted by the Deputy Vice President of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, Faïçal Laraïchi, the advisor to the President of the Festival, Mélita Toscan du Plantier, and the Festival's artistic director, Rémi Bonhomme, the President's financial advisor to the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, Azeddine Benmoussa, the Festival's secretary general, Fadwa Megzari, the general treasurer, Naoufel Mohamed Bensouda, and the Festival's general coordinator, Ali Hajji.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid then proceeded to the Hall of Honor, where the jury, foreign stars and foreign and national partners were presented to His Royal Highness.
Organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 19th Marrakech International Film Festival was inaugurated on Friday evening at the Marrakech Congress Palace, in the presence of several national and international stars of the seventh art and eminent personalities from the world of culture, media and arts.
