The polo team of the Royal Guard won the title of this edition, beating in the final the team of "Patrick Guerrand-Hermès" (PGH) the Palmeraie Polo club of Assilah by 5 to 0.
The Royal Guard team had beaten in the semi-final the Royal Cavalry School of Temara by 5 to 3, while the PGH team la Palmeraie Polo Club eliminated the Jnan Amar Polo Club of Marrakech (10-5).
Upon his arrival at the Polo Club Souissi, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan was welcomed by Major General Commander of the Royal Guard and President of the Royal Moroccan Polo Federation.
HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan then reviewed a section of the Royal Guard performing the honors, before being greeted by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, the General of the Army Corps, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone, the Brigadier General, Inspector of the Cavalry and the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports.
His Royal Highness was also greeted by the wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, the president of the Council of the Region, officials of the organizing committee of the Royal Guard and the presidents of the participating polo clubs.
HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan then took his seat in the grandstand before giving the signal for the start of the competition. His Royal Highness then attended the final phase of the Throne Cup, between the Royal Guard polo team and the PGH la Palmeraie Polo Club.
At the end of this sporting event, organized by the Royal Moroccan Polo Federation, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan presented the trophy of the first Throne Polo Cup to the captain of the winning team, before posing for a souvenir photo with the participating clubs.
