"We are proud of Morocco, which has applied several times to host CAF competitions. Other countries must follow the Kingdom's example and submit their applications," said Motsepe at a press conference held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, on the eve of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (2022 WAFCON) final between Morocco and South Africa.
"I am grateful for the contribution of Morocco and the Moroccan people to the development of African soccer," he stated, reiterating his gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people.
"I am impressed by the work done by Morocco for the success of the 2022 WAFCON. I am confident that Morocco will make every effort to succeed in the final on Saturday," he said, considering that "Morocco is a good example of success.
"Tomorrow, African soccer will emerge as a champion. The two teams will certainly offer a good show," he added, noting that Africa has the talent and capacity to win international competitions. The WAFCON is "a good proof of success," he said.
According to the CAF president, football brings together all nations and promotes the values of tolerance and living together. The edition Morocco 2022 has broken all records in terms of public attendance, he added, stressing the need to invest more to develop women's and men's football.
The 2022 WAFCON final will be played on Saturday (9 p.m.) between the Moroccan and South African squads at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
