Born in Marrakech in 1946, the late Stouky learned journalism on the job and was known for his mastery of several national issues that he dissected with an incisive, lucid and fair pen.
Stouky, who chaired the General Assembly of the Union of French-speaking press in the 80's, contributed to the development of several Moroccan newspapers and Magazines.
He began his professional career in the partisan press, under the umbrella of the Moroccan communist party for instance, then worked in the Lamalif and Souffles magazines.
After a spell at MAP where he held various positions, the dean of Moroccan journalists directed several national newspapers where he helped train a large number of Moroccan journalists.

His colleagues acknowledge him as a free, independent and credible intellectual, a man of position, and a high-flying intellectual with fine qualities that deserve respect.
