Initiated as part of the visit of members of the Andean Parliament to the Kingdom (July 1-9) at the invitation of the Moroccan Parliament, this forum was an opportunity to review the assets and potential of the Kingdom, as a gateway to the African continent and the Arab world, and the Andean countries as a platform to access the Atlantic economic space.
The event emphasized the need to capitalize on the potential of Moroccan-Andean relations and to establish levers to make the most of these ties.
In a speech delivered during the forum, the Director-General of Trade at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Abdelouahed Rahal, said that Morocco is working to develop relations with other countries in the world, especially South American countries to open new markets for Moroccan products and seize the opportunities offered by these countries.
Highlighting the efforts made to attract foreign direct investment in Morocco, the official noted that the establishment of a model of South-South cooperation is a strategic objective for both Morocco and South American countries.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Mohamed Benyahya, said that the rapid transition would make the Kingdom a benchmark country in terms of carbon-free production methods.
To accelerate the energy transition in Morocco, the official noted that a set of initiatives and new programs have been developed in the field of renewable energy to strengthen the energy security of the Kingdom. In his opinion, the contribution of energy efficiency remains essential to achieve energy transition.
