From Wednesday until Thursday at 2:00 pm, the Algerian authorities did not authorize the Moroccan media delegation to access the Algerian territory to accomplish its mission, an AMJS statement said.
"The Moroccan delegation was forced to spend the night at the airport, a situation that has impacted a colleague who suffered a malaise that required a medical intervention," it added.
"Despite the serious steps and intensive efforts made by the Moroccan National Olympic Committee and the Moroccan Consulate in Oran to ease the entry procedures of the Moroccan media delegation, the latter did not receive the required and necessary response from the authorities concerned, in particular the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Games and the local Algerian authorities who behaved with negligence and indifference," the statement deplored.
The AMJS called on "the relevant Algerian authorities and on the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Games to be proactive and reasonable and to intervene quickly to facilitate the entry of the Moroccan media delegation to Oran and ensure its safety".
The Alliance "reserves the right to take whatever action it deems appropriate and necessary to defend the rights of the Moroccan delegation before all relevant authorities," the statement concluded.
