"The Kingdom of Morocco organizes on June 17, 2022, at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, an international symposium with the participation of researchers and specialists in prehistoric sciences from various Moroccan and international academic institutions," a statement from the ministry said.
The event will be an opportunity to showcase "the richness and diversity of the prehistoric heritage of Morocco and highlight recent archaeological discoveries, such as the elements of adornment of the Bizmoune cave, located near Essaouira."
Dated between 142,000 to 150,000 years, these ornaments can be considered the first objects of adornment of humanity.
From its remarkable past, Morocco inherited a cultural heritage whose originality, scope, and richness are recognized worldwide, the statement said.
