The two anthologies were published a year apart (2021 and 2022) at the initiative of the Embassy of Morocco in Argentina. They are collections of poems and stories created by more than sixty poets and writers friends of Morocco. The latter had put their poetic and narrative talent at the service of friendship and great affection for Morocco, its culture, and its people.
Before a packed room, Morocco's ambassador to Argentina Fares Yassir was pleased with the opportunity to present the two anthologies at the Buenos Aires Book Fair, which is holding its 46th edition after a two-year pause due to the pandemic.
The diplomat also highlighted the role of "cultural diplomacy" in bringing the two peoples closer together.
For his part, Alejandro Vaccaro, president of the Argentine Association of Writers, shared his thoughts on the role of literature in bringing people together.
Through these two anthologies, the Argentines feel "closer to Morocco and Morocco is closer to us," he said.
Poet Mariela Palermo who proofread the two anthologies explained to the audience the philosophy behind the development of the two works.
Published in 2021, the first anthology is a collection of forty poems dedicated to the Kingdom, while the second anthology was published in April 2022 under the title "Histories between two shores: Morocco and Argentina.
