Originally from Berkane, the late Larguet Jdaïni, father of journalist Nadia Larguet, was a strong supporter of basketball but also of archery.
In 1959, he served as deputy president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Basketball.
A founding member of the Association of African Basketball Federations created in 1961, the deceased dedicated over 50 years of his life to the development of African basketball.
He was also a member of the executive board and the technical commission of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), back then known as Fédération internationale de basket-ball amateur.
In Morocco, the late Larguet Jdaïni played for Mouloudia Oujda and took the lead of KAC Kenitra.
