National Police said, in a statement, that the defendants were apprehended during simultaneous security operations carried out in Nador, Segangan (Nador province) and Laassara (near the town of Beni Sidal).
The investigation led to the location of large workshops used for the manufacture and assembly of dinghies and wooden plates for illegal migration activities, and to the seizure of two cars, two engines, communication devices and 27 dinghies, among other tools, DGSN said.
The suspects were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor, to confound all those involved in these criminal acts and determine all the regional and international ramifications of this network, concluded the statement.
