On this occasion, the two parties expressed their willingness to strengthen their partnership and set an example of productive cooperation in the future, particularly in the field of statistics and the use of Big Data.
Lahlimi presented the Commission's recent achievements, marked in particular by major surveys aiming to see the evolution of households' standard of living and economic structures, in addition to the digitization process of different lines of production and services initiated by the HCP.
He further noted that the HCP is in a "very advanced" phase in terms of digitization, especially when it comes to various surveys' automation, design and implementation of data centers and the realization of business directories, noting however that "there is still a lot of work to do."
"The HCP will soon have a data center that will be able to bring together all its work, which will be available to the entire population," he said, adding that a very large survey on the Moroccan family and its evolution is "currently being conducted."
In addition, Lahlimi indicated that the High Commission for Planning is fully mobilized for the operation of the general population census to be held in 2024, including the establishment of digital tools to conduct this operation in the best conditions.
For her part, Petit expressed her great interest in HCP's analytical work, particularly those relating to the general census, labor market and women's economic participation.
The diplomat also highlighted Morocco's efficiency in managing the COVID-19 pandemic and in its vaccination operations. Moreover, the two parties discussed Morocco's socio-economic situation and potential areas for economic recovery.
