Fettah took part in the opening session of these annual meetings and the boards of governors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (DHAMAN), the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, said the ministry in a statement.
During these meetings, the Minister chaired the meeting of the Board of Shareholders of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), during which the final accounts of the Authority were approved. It was also proceeded to the adoption of the programs of investment operations and the Authority's Auditors for the coming year.
Speaking on this occasion, Fettah, in her capacity as Chairman of the AAAID Board of Shareholders, called on Arab member states to further develop the agricultural sector, a key activity for economic development, especially after the Covid-19 crisis which continues to negatively impact the world and Arab economies.
In addition, and on the sidelines of these meetings, the Minister participated in the meeting of the 13th session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, which included the discussion of presentations by representatives of the AMF, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
These presentations focused on several areas of critical importance to countries in the Arab region, including modernizing the role of the state to stimulate private sector-led growth, financial policies to support post-covid recovery, as well as strategies for digital transformation of Arab capital markets, the statement added.
It noted that the Board of Governors of these bodies have agreed to hold the annual meetings for the year 2023 in Morocco. On this occasion, Fettah welcomed the holding in the Kingdom of these meetings, which demonstrates, once again, according to the minister, the trust that Morocco enjoys with these bodies.
The statement noted, moreover, that Fettah discussed, on the sidelines of these meetings, with the Director General of the OPEC Fund for International Development, Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, cooperation relations between the two parties and ways to consolidate them.
Fettah also held talks with the Somali Minister of Finance, Abdirahman Dualeh Beileh. During this meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations in order to consolidate the historical ties between the two brotherly peoples.
