On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and Canada, the festival has placed its opening night under the colors of Morocco, with the screening of Nabil Ayouch's latest feature film 'Casablanca Beats'.
This screening took place in a typically Moroccan atmosphere and decoration combining crafts, musical performances and flavors of the national cuisine, while nine Moroccan feature films, short films and animation are also on the program of this FVA edition, which runs until April 10.
The opening of the festival was held in the presence of its president, Gerald Lechesnes, Morocco's Ambassador to Canada Souriya Otmani, the Consul General of the Kingdom in Montreal, Mhamed Ifriquine and the director of the Moroccan Cultural Center "Dar Al Maghrib", Houda Zemmouri.
A large number of guests were present, including the godmother and the sponsor of the festival, respectively the actress Aissa Maiga, and the director Richard Jean Baptiste, as well as various personalities from politics, arts, culture and media.
