This meeting between the president of the CCIS, Hassan Sakhi, and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Morocco, Simon Martin, was an opportunity to highlight the business potential, administrative facilities and support measures taken at the regional level.
Sakhi shed light on the role played by the Chamber in terms of investment through support, governance and training under the supervision of 117 members representing the sectors of trade, industry and services.
The CCIS Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, he said, works to establish a model to follow on the national level, through communication and openness to all partners, including consulates and ambassadors accredited to Morocco, with a view to publicizing business opportunities of regional scope.
Similarly, he emphasized "the role assumed by the Chamber in complementarity with the Regional Investment Center (CRI), the Wilaya and the Council of the region, all actors who operate in a logic of full coordination, noting that there are opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the Chamber and the British Embassy.
Sakhi also proposed the holding of direct meetings between businessmen in the region and their British counterparts to better discuss the investment climate in the region and engage in a rich exchange of ideas and data.
For his part, the British diplomat said that this visit to the Chamber of Commerce aims to explore the investment opportunities offered to British companies.
In this regard, he noted that Moroccan exports to the British market are increasing after the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union, considering that the economic and trade relations between Morocco and Britain are well diversified.
In addition, he stressed the vast opportunities offered under the New Development Model (NMD), including those related to the promotion of the business climate.
This meeting will be followed by other meetings to discuss opportunities for collaboration between British businessmen and members of the CCIS in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, to build strategic partnerships, said Martin, noting that he will work to strengthen these economic and trade relations so as to raise them to the rank of excellent historical bilateral ties.
