"The accelerated changes in the national and international context require, more than ever, an in-depth reform and renewed ecosystem of higher education, scientific research and innovation," added the Minister who spoke at the opening of the work of the Regional Conference on Higher Education in Marrakech-Safi.
Miraoui continued that the new Moroccan university model aspires to lay the foundations of a true territorial justice, based on a clear vision that takes into account economic, social and cultural developments of the Kingdom's regions.
This requires the establishment of integrated university poles, able to meet the priorities related to development, and to help mobilize and develop promising skills that abound in different regions of the Kingdom, he further noted.
In this sense, he praised the importance of this National Plan for Accelerating the Transformation of the Ecosystem of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, which "we are in the process of outlining and defining the mechanisms of its realization, according to a participatory approach inclusive and mobilizing collective intelligence."
"This approach draws its content and its genesis from the recommendations of the New Development Model (NMD) and the strategic priorities of the 2021-2026 government program, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI," he continued.
"The accelerated changes in the national and international context question not only the ability to adapt the university with the new requirements related to the quality and type of skills to meet the requirements of productive sectors but also the role that the university must play as a lever of global competitiveness and integration into the knowledge society," said Miraoui.
