On Saturday morning, an attempt to depart for the Canary Islands was foiled in the area known as "Farma Sghira" in the province of Laayoune, allowing the seizure of an inflatable boat, a motor scull and 10 gasoline drums. The operation also led to the arrest of 54 Sub-Saharan candidates for illegal immigration.
Other attempts were thwarted on Friday and Saturday in the city of Laayoune and led to the arrest of 106 candidates for illegal immigration while they were waiting for the right opportunity to take the sea route to the Canary Islands.
In the province of Tarfaya, security services arrested 76 Sub-Saharans following the abortion of three illegal immigration attempts in the localities of Naila, Tah and Daoura.
These operations led to the seizure of two inflatable boats, a motor scull and nine gasoline cans of 25 liters each.
It should be noted that the sea had thrown out the bodies of two candidates for illegal immigration after the capsizing of their boat.
Security services have recently intensified operations to control illegal immigration attempts in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, which led to several arrests and rescues of boats.
