This meeting was an opportunity for both parties to discuss a number of issues of national, international and bilateral character, as well as ways to raise relations between the two countries in various fields, including the media, for more rapprochement and understanding between the two peoples.
On this occasion, the two parties highlighted the common history and the process of close and long-standing relations between Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman as well as the convergence of their points of view on various issues, while looking at ways to develop cooperation relations between MAP and the Omani News Agency (ONA) through the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between the two agencies in 2010.
In this regard, Hachimi Idrissi stressed the importance of strengthening media cooperation between the two countries in order to support efforts to consolidate the strategic partnership between Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman, calling to give a new impetus to cooperation relations between MAP and ONA.
Referring to the 7th News Agencies World Congress (NAWC), which MAP will organize at the end of November in Marrakech, Hachimi Idrissi said he will tour the Gulf region in late May that will take him to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman and Bahrain, with the aim of inviting his counterparts to take part in the Congress and to give a new impetus to the bilateral relations.
The Director General of MAP also took the opportunity to extend an official invitation to the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Rabat to host MAP Diplomatic Forum in the coming months.
For his part, Ben Mohamed Al Baraami welcomed the "excellent idea" of the Diplomatic Forum organized by MAP, noting the importance of the role of the media in bringing people together and promoting their different cultures but also the potential that each country has to strengthen cooperation and investment opportunities in various fields.
In a statement to M24, the continuous news channel of MAP, the diplomat described as "fruitful" this meeting, noting that both parties have reviewed the relations of solid brotherhood linking the two brotherly countries and their leaders.
He said, at the end of this meeting, that his talks with Hachimi Idrissi also focused on strengthening cooperation in various media fields between Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman, sharing the common will and orientation for the development of bilateral relations in various areas, particularly media.
