During this visit led by the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Murcia, Mohamed Biadillah, the members of the delegation held a series of meetings with the local authorities and the Chioukhs of the Sahrawi tribes in Laayoune.
They also held a meeting with the secretary general of the wilaya of Laayoune, Ibrahim Boutmilate, during which they highlighted the strong relations between Spain and the Kingdom of Morocco in different areas.
During a meeting with the Chioukhs of the Saharawi tribes, the latter informed the members of the delegation of the historical stages of the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, while denouncing the maneuvers of Algeria aimed at infringing the legitimate rights of Morocco on its Sahara.
In this regard, the Chioukhs of the Sahrawi tribes emphasized the relevance of the Moroccan autonomy plan, highlighting the climate of security, tranquility and stability prevailing in the region and the ongoing dynamics of socio-economic development in the Southern Provinces of the Kingdom.
Likewise, they denounced the deplorable living conditions of the Moroccan Sahrawis held against their will in Tindouf for more than four decades, deprived of their most basic rights, in flagrant violation of international law, pointing to the disinformation campaigns carried out by the polisario on the situation in the Southern Provinces to divert attention from the crimes committed against those detained in Tindouf.
For their part, the members of the Spanish delegation expressed their satisfaction with this visit, which enabled them to converse with local officials and actors on a certain number of issues related to the region and to dwell on the achievements and the reforms undertaken by Morocco in various fields.
On this occasion, members of the Spanish delegation visited the "City of Trades and Skills", the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, and the University Hospital.
The Spanish delegation includes historian and professor at the University of Murcia, Antonio Vicente Fray Sánchez, photographer and graphic designer, Gonzalo Sánchez Alvarez Castellanos, and journalist at Radio de Murcia, Paulino Ross.
