Organized in partnership with the Regional Department of Culture, this initiative allows beneficiaries to learn about the process of drawing up feasibility studies for their projects, to find out about successful projects in the region and to explore financing options, by strengthening their capacities in business creation and management.
Speaking on this occasion, the president of the MEPI-Sahara Alumni association, Lmahjoub Eddouwa stressed that this project will benefit 20 women entrepreneurs, students who are pursuing vocational training and those who are members of the Chamber of Crafts, in line with the Kingdom's efforts to ensure women's economic empowerment.
Eddouwa also said that the women's economic empowerment project was marked by the organization of a series of training sessions related to the mechanisms for creating and managing small and medium-sized enterprises, welcoming this US initiative financed by the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), an American NGO working for fairer, freer and more prosperous societies.
For his part, the regional director of Culture of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, Lahcen Chorfi, underlined the importance of this project which is meantto empower women economically, with the aim of ensuring their integration into the dynamics of national development.
Mr. Chorfi also expressed the commitment of the Regional Directorate of Culture to support this initiative as part of the implementation of the strategy of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication aimed at supporting active initiatives and to back civil society in carrying out cultural and development projects.
