According to a statement by the Sultan Bin Ali Al-Owais Foundation, the prize was awarded during a ceremony organized on the occasion of the tribute paid to the winners of the award in its various categories.
The winners are, in addition to the Assilah Forum Foundation, the Lebanese poet Elias Lahoud in the field of poetry, the Syrian novelist Nabil Suleiman in the field of history and theatrical novel, the critic Abdelmalek Mortadh in the field of literary studies and criticism, and the thinker Ahmed Zayed in the category of human and future studies.
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the winners, Mohamed Benaissa said that in recent decades, an effective system has developed in the United Arab Emirates for the promotion of thought and culture in its various manifestations, noting that in parallel, forms of motivation, support and encouragement have emerged in this field.
For his part, Anwar Mohamed Karkach, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, stressed that the celebration of an elite group of innovators in the framework of the 17th edition of the Sultan Bin Ali Al-Owais Cultural Awards is a celebration of talent and creativity, and a tribute to personalities who have given much in the fields of culture, thought and science.
