A ceremony was held on this occasion in the presence of the Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Charity, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, as well as representatives of government departments and United Nations organizations accredited in Morocco.
During this event, two partnership agreements were signed between Qatar Charity on the one hand, and the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) and the Moroccan League for Child Protection (LMPE), on the other hand.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Wali, National Coordinator of the INDH, Mohamed Dardouri, said that the opening of the branch of Qatar Charity in Morocco is a "remarkable event" that is part of the fraternal and solid relations and constructive cooperation that unite the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, to the brotherly State of Qatar, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Dardouri praised the pioneering qualitative contributions and flagship projects of Qatar Charity around the world, which cover various humanitarian, social and development aspects, expressing the hope that the association can contribute to the promotion of the positive dynamism that already marks the human development large-scale projects in Morocco.
The signing of partnership agreements between the INDH and Qatar Charity will help unify efforts and strengthen cooperation to achieve common goals, exchange expertise and experience, develop performance, improve the effectiveness of practices and mobilize the necessary resources for the programs and projects of the Initiative, he noted.
The National Coordinator of the INDH recalled that the strategic human development project in Morocco has always been distinguished by its objectives, its programs, its governance systems, as well as its financial capacities.
In a speech delivered on behalf of Her Highness Princess Lalla Zineb, President of the Moroccan League for Child Protection, the League's legal adviser, Abdelilah Fountir Benbrahim, noted that the partnership concluded with Qatar Charity is an expression of the strong and common will of the parties to promote the difficult situation of children deprived of their families.
He added that this partnership confirms the firm and strong will to develop a constructive relationship of solidarity based on a shared conviction and a common vision to combat all kinds of vulnerability and deprivation, and work to confront them and reduce their impacts in order to ensure a decent life and provide a safe environment for these children.
LMPE is determined to promote this partnership to ensure the conditions for its success in serving the cause of children deprived of family, in addition to providing a decent life to children in difficult situations, noted Benbrahim.
He noted that the League aspires, thanks to its remarkable presence in the various prefectures and provinces of the Kingdom, to build a new and pioneering model to take care of children deprived of family on solid foundations, through sustainable funding of its activities and the adoption of a transparent governance system to manage its programs and ensure a high quality of services it provides.
For his part, Qatar Charity CEO, Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, said that the opening of a branch of this NGO in Morocco is an important step in the development process.
It is also, he noted, an opportunity to strengthen the strong ties between the Moroccan and Qatari peoples and contribute to the consolidation of bilateral relations based on the principles of brotherhood, solidarity and governance.
He stressed that the opening of a branch of Qatar Charity in Morocco will give a strong impetus to the work of this organization in the Kingdom, "which enjoys a solid reputation in the field of development in its various economic, social and cultural dimensions".
