"Everyone was waiting for the return of supporters to stadiums and also to all the sporting events," Lekjaa told reporters following a meeting with the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.
"One cannot imagine stadiums without fans," he added, noting that national teams, in particular those which participate in continental competitions, will benefit from the support of supporters, including the national football team, which will play a decisive match on March in the playoff round of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The return of supporters to stadiums "will be a historic event after the pandemic and will allow us to relive the celebrations and sporting joys", he concluded.
The government has decided to allow supporters to return to stadiums, while calling on the FRMF to take all the necessary measures to successfully implement this decision.
"In accordance with the legal provisions relating to the management of the state of health emergency and following the recommendations of the scientific and technical committee while taking into consideration the positive evolution of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom, the government has decided to reopen stadiums to fans," said a statement of the Department of the Head of Government.
