AFCON: Egypt Defeats Ivory Coast on Penalties (5-4), Joins Morocco in Quarterfinals
Douala - Egypt has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament, after beating Ivory Coast (5-4 on penalties, 0-0 in regulation and extra times), Wednesday at Japoma stadium in Douala.
In the quarterfinals, scheduled for next Sunday, Egypt will play against Morocco, which eliminated Malawi (2-1).
The final round of 16 game will pit Equatorial Guinea against Mali tonight.
