In a statement to the press at the end of a working meeting devoted to the progress of the complementary program of rehabilitation and development of the old medina of Essaouira (2019-2023), Bensaid also stressed the imperative of developing a practical strategy to highlight and further promote cultural tourism.
In the same vein, he emphasized the strong desire that animates the various actors for action on the ground, highlighting the richness and diversity of cultural heritage that the city of Essaouira abounds.
Hence, he added, the importance of taking advantage of these opportunities and this invaluable potential and invest more in this area.
The Minister also welcomed the action and efforts made by the various stakeholders to ensure the success of this ambitious program of rehabilitation of the old medina and, therefore, the development of the city of Essaouira.
The meeting was marked by the presence, in particular, of the Advisor to HM the King and founding president of the Essaouira-Mogador Association, André Azoulay and Minister of National Planning, Urban Development, Housing and Urban Policy, Fatima Zohra El Mansouri.
