Akhannouch, who was speaking during a special broadcast on television channels Al Aoula and 2M on the occasion of the first 100 days of the government, said that social protection is a "constant and grandiose royal project" on which the government will work to ensure its implementation.
There will be no pressure in terms of funding this project of 51 billion dirhams by the end of 2026, to which the state will contribute 23 billion dirhams, he said.
Regarding the health infrastructure, which will have to respond to the expansion of medical coverage, he stressed that several meetings were held with the Ministers of Health and Social Protection, Economy and Finance and Higher Education, to ensure a legal framework for this new system, both in terms of health services, human resources and digitalization.
The concept of the social state, which is not new, can be summarized in three pillars: health, education and employment, he added.
The measures illustrating this orientation in the 2022 appropriation bill include increasing the budget for health and education by 9 billion dirhams, which will allow, among other things, the rehabilitation of 1,500 small hospitals and 30 regional hospitals, said the Head of Government, recalling that 500 million dirhams will be allocated to people with special needs.
He noted that in terms of employment, the government has presented two very important programs: "Awrach" and "Forsa".
Akhannouch said that there is no reason to postpone the reform of the pension system beyond the current mandate, ensuring that the pension crisis must be resolved during the current governmental mandate, "because if we do not intervene, the pension system will experience a total collapse in 2028".
The ministerial departments are working on this issue and the government is determined to carry out this reform, he insisted, saying that the government operates "in a difficult economic situation, but this issue does not scare us and we have the ability and courage to face it”.
