"UNESCO would make it possible both to bring together the greatest recognized experts in the field of prehistoric archaeological research and to address the whole world through all of its Member States. Moreover, this meeting will be the opportunity for UNESCO to make up for lost time in terms of prehistoric heritage," stressed Mr. Azoulay at a meeting jointly initiated by the Maghreb office of UNESCO and Essaouira-Mogador Association on the Kingdom's prehistoric heritage, with a particular focus on Bizmoune discovery.
Morocco now has achievements which justify and legitimize the mobilization of renowned international bodies in this field, he underlined.
During this conference, "it will be about Morocco with a focus on Bizmoune because it is the door, the latest discovery, it is the expression in terms of values and impact, of what can give substance to the prehistoric discourse and its rereading," Mr. Azoulay pointed out.
These discoveries are "a new step taken in the way in which the history of Humanity is told and this conference will not be an end in itself, but it will come to initiate other processes and other dynamics", noted Mr. Azoulay.
"This will be the starting point of an agenda which will include other stages," he said.
