During a working session with the president and representatives of the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT), the minister recalled the strong commitment of her department and all the components of the Government to implementing urgent and structural measures to support operators in the sector, according to a statement from the ministry.
In the presence of the general directors of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and the Moroccan Society of Tourist Engineering (SMIT), this session has reviewed the 10 proposals of the CNT deemed necessary to support the sector to cope with the recent closure of borders and prepare the revival of the sector in the best conditions, the statement read.
"After more than 21 months of health crisis, the changing context requires a new set of measures to support employees and operators", the statement noted.
A new extension of the lump sum of 2,000 dirhams (already paid for 4 months from September to December 2021), the revision of schedules for the payment of social charges and the establishment of new banking mechanisms are the main measures examined.
In addition, it was decided, along with the Confederation, to set-up a technical committee for the operationalization of support measures as soon as possible, according to the same source.
