In a statement to MAP, Hamid Asghar Khan stressed that Morocco has not complained about migration flows after becoming a host country and not a country of transit to Europe, but rather has adopted concrete measures to address the issue of migration, by facilitating the integration of migrants through training, employment opportunities and the possibility to benefit from certain professional skills.
Morocco has also provided migrants and their families with access to basic social services such as education and health, especially in these exceptional circumstances of pandemic that the world is experiencing, he added.
The Pakistani diplomat said that Morocco's exemplary interest in the issue of migration, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, reflects the human values and noble principles of human rights that the Kingdom is imbued with, in addition to the country's convictions concretized on the practical level by approaches based on human values and the great benevolence that Moroccans have for their African, Arab, and Muslim brothers, rather than approaches focused on financial considerations.
Many rich countries with their capacities and logistical means have not managed to solve the problems related to migration in the distinguished manner with which Morocco has approached the issue, he stressed.
The Kingdom has offered the different categories of migrants the possibility of training, which is a "humane and intelligent way" to facilitate the economic integration of migrants, and even an advantage for them in case of return to their countries of origin, in order to contribute to the development that the African continent really needs to solve the accumulated social problems, said Hamid Asghar Khan.
The Pakistani diplomat also concluded that Morocco provides concrete and operational solutions to all priority issues, while working and persevering so that the African continent and the Mediterranean region live in security, stability, coexistence, tolerance and prosperity.
