Morocco: 62 New Covid-19 Cases, 2 Fatalities in 24 Hours

Rabat - A total of 62 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 291 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Monday, adding that 2 deaths have been reported.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemic situation, the Ministry noted that a total of 24,470,391 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 22,786.591, while 2,037,885 people have received the third dose of the vaccine.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 951,544, while recoveries rise to 935,358, i.e. a recovery rate of 98.3%.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (38), Casablanca-Settat (15), Marrakech-Safi (4), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (2), Eastern region (2) and Souss-Massa (1).

As for coronavirus-related fatalities, they rose to 14,798 (case-fatality 1.6%), with two cases recorded in the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region.

The number of active cases has reached 1,388, including 103 people in a critical or severe condition, the Ministry said.
